Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented HR Assistant to support a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter, housing support, and essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Summary

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the HR Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the HR department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior HR Assistant experience or a strong administrative support background who is interested in growing their career in Human Resources.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and comfortable managing reports, employee records, and general administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Position Type: Part-Time
  • Schedule: Approximately 24 hours per week (3 days per week)
  • Required Day: Wednesday (mandatory)
  • Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Parking: Provided at no cost

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Director and HR department
  • Maintain and update employee files and records
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and document management
  • Support onboarding and employee documentation processes
  • Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and excellent customer service
  • Maintain confidential HR information and records
  • Assist with HR projects and departmental initiatives as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy and organization of HR documentation and reporting

Qualifications

  • Previous HR Assistant experience preferred
  • Administrative support experience will be considered
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-service oriented with a professional and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
